about

An old concrete bunker shaded by huge trees, the Bradfordville Blues Club is a place full of music and history. Painted table-tops featuring portraits of blues musicians, including many famous ‘old friends’ who have played the club since it’s early days on the chitlin circuit, hang on the wall. It may seem an unlikely spot on the outskirts of Tallahassee, but blues lovers know where to find it. It’s the kind of place that stays fondly in my memory…

lyrics

Over yonder – down Moses Lane
Outside they’re frying catfish, inside they’re raising Cain
I want to go to the juke joint
Down on Moses Lane

Hmmmm – I can hear the call
Can’t wait to get there, all my old friends hanging on the wall
I want to go down to Bradfordville
And have myself a ball

Over yonder – from long time ago
When you need a little moonshine, you need someplace to blow
It ain’t on the highway
But the folks still know where to go

Over yonder – have yourself a time
Folks are dancing, drinking whiskey, beer and wine
Ain’t nothing like a juke joint
To have yourself a time

Over yonder – down Moses Lane
Outside they’re frying catfish, inside they’re raising Cain
Take me down to Tallahassee
To the juke joint on Moses lane
I’m going down to Tallahassee
To the juke joint on Moses Lane…
